The yacht used for teaching is the Sigma 38, ‘Stark Ravin. She was built in 1991 and like all Sigma’s, is a powerful and sea kindly boat with comfortable accommodation and a full safety inventory including fully automatic lifejackets, epirb and AIS.

Sailing from Port Edgar, South Queensferry gives immediate access to a very under rated sailing area. The Forth Bridges arc majestically over the river providing a gateway to the Firth and its many islands and small harbours, our courses will normally call at Granton, Dunbar or Pittenweem and anchor off Fidra, Inchkieth or one of the many picturesque villages. When conditions permit Eyemouth, the Tay and Bell rock are all within reach.

The Principal and instructor for all courses is Guthrie Stewart. He has been sailing for many years both cruising and racing on the Forth, West Coast of Scotland, Ireland and the South Coast.   He is a Yachtmaster Instructor and has extensive experience on all types of vessels from high speed RHIBs to racing yachts.
